Research Activities
Research and survey activities will be conducted on new research areas based on tourism. The research activities will be carried out by a core group of members. The results of the research will be compiled into a research report after discussion among members and other interested parties. Themes are selected from various fields related to tourism in response to the needs of the times, and research studies and proposals are conducted from an interdisciplinary perspective. In addition, projects are organized based on requests from ministries, local governments, and private organizations, and the results of the research are reported to the commissioning organization.

  Publication Activities
Through publication activities such as reports of surveys and research, collections of papers, and research materials, we present the results of our research to society at large. The Journal of Global Tourism Research publishes articles related to tourism research, research on interactions with society and the environment, and examination of newly discovered technologies, logics, and systems. In collaboration with affiliated publishers, we also publish research books. Partial subsidies for publication expenses may be available from the research association. For more information, please contact us.

In addition, our affiliated publisher, Union Press, publishes mainly academic books. We actively publish specialized books that are difficult to put into general circulation, and we produce and sell English-language books in particular, drawing on our many years of experience in importing and selling Western books. Union Press also accepts applications for publication grants from the Grants-in-Aid for Publication of Scientific Research Results of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
